I came to the US in August 2001, four months earlier than my wife and our (6) children, who arrived in December of the same year. We came from Guayaquil, Ecuador (South América) directly to Salt Lake. We don’t know the rest of the country, but we really love the part we already know.
The idea of the images for the “Golden Rule” project came after visiting an Adult Care facility, where I met a few elder people who have been (almost) forgotten by their relatives. I wanted to tell every person who would see these images two things. First: We all were once in a situation when we needed help from someone else; we wouldn’t be here if we had not received it. Remember to be GRATEFUL! Second: Be aware that sooner or later, we will be in a position where we will need help again (and it doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with aging). So, treat others today as you would want to be treated tomorrow.
