DEREK DYER
Derek Dyer is an artist and arts advocate, environmental activist and business leader in Salt Lake City.
Derek has lived in Salt Lake his whole life and has been a long time resident of both the Avenues and Capital Hill. Derek understands the concerns and needs of the community in District Three.
Derek is the Executive Director of Utah Arts Alliance and Utah Center For The Arts, a nonprofit corporation establishing arts venues, providing arts education and arts programming in Utah's communities.
He also serves as Recycling Director for Marko Foam Products. Marko Foam is one of the only foam recycling plants in the western US and provides free recycling services to all Utah residents and businesses.
Derek has provided many years of service to the community, arts groups and artists in Salt Lake City and has become one of the premier social advocates and progressive leaders in Salt Lake City.
He is well known in Salt Lake's communities for fun and unique events including fundraisers for Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Utah Aids Foundation, Volunteers of America, Homeless Youth Resource Center, Utah Arts Alliance and others.
He is an experienced events producer including numerous gallery exhibits, art events, concerts, dance performances and theater shows. Other events and collaborations include several projects with Downtown Alliance and First Night SLC, Utah Arts Festival and Salt Lake City Corp.
